1 cup OLD SCHOOL BRAND Grits
Bring water to a boil. Add salt and stir in grits. Reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Add margarine, stir and serve. Serves 4.
I have been making shrimp and grits for about 2 years but used Quaker old fashion grits. I went up to the Blue RIdge mountains and saw this product in one of the stores, so I decided to buy it and make my shrimp and grits. Wow! what a difference, My family said it was the best one I had ever made.
Thanks for your comments and for “taking a chance” on our grits. So here’s a tip: cook them in a crock pot. We use 4 parts water to one parts grits (so, for example, 4 cups water and 1 cup grits) when we crock pot cook them. So easy! And we’ve discovered that crock pot liners make cleanup so simple as well…(available at your local grocer or discount store.)
